Product Placement in Duck Dynasty: Duck Season Eve

I watched an episode of Duck Dynasty on a&e titled Duck Season Eve. This specific episode included a lot of product placement and some product placement that could be debated if it truly was meant to be placed strategically.  According to Stanley J. Baran product placement is, "the integration, for a fee, of specific branded products into media content."  While watching this specific episode of Duck Dynasty a product placement occurred immediately.  This was a product placement of the caramel chocolate candy, Rolo's.  One of the stars in Duck Dynasty, Jase, was holding a Rolo wrapper and eating them.  Another star, Willie, then pointed out that Jase was eating Rolo's and he asked Jase to toss him one.  The rest of the stars in the room started to say

how much they loved Rolo's.  This is a perfect example of obvious product placement.  Rolo probably paid Duck Dynasty a lump sum to have the actors talk highly of their product for a certain amount of time in a show.  Another form of product placement in this show was from the athletic wear company, Under Armour.  All of the stars in the show are constantly wearing Under Armour attire.  I am assuming Under Armour is some type of sponsor for Duck Dynasty and in return all of the stars are provided with Under Armour attire, more specifically, ca
mouflage Under Armour attire.  One other product placement in this show was probably the most obvious but the most forgettable and that would be the Duck Commander company itself.  While working at the headquarters the Duck Commander logo is displayed everywhere.  Most of the time one of the stars in the show will be sporting a Duck Commander shirt or bandana.  Later in the seasons Willie actually gets a tattoo of the Duck Commander logo on his forearm.  This may not be intentional product placement but it definitely draws attention to their company and their products.
